295 pubs had shut for good by the end of September 2026, and the BBPA estimates around 360 by the end of the year, about one a day (BBPA, 12 October 2026). Methodology and source
This page collates the most recent published pub closure figures from two named industry sources. The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) counts pubs that close for good (October 2026 release; Q1 2026 release; 2024 release). The Hospitality Market Monitor from CGA by NIQ with AlixPartners counts all licensed premises in Great Britain. The two series measure different things, and scope varies between releases (England and Wales versus Great Britain), so every row is labelled with its scope and date and the figures are not added together.
