Winding-up petition lookup
Search whether a UK company has had a winding-up petition advertised in The Gazette recently, the official public record. This covers 16 petitions published 5 October 2026 to 7 October 2026, from the most recent 1200 insolvency notices at the latest fetch on 7 October 2026. That is about 3 days of notices, not a full history, and the Gazette feed does not show who the petitioner was. A petition is one of the earliest public signals of serious creditor pressure, but a "no match" here does not mean a company is financially healthy, only that no petition against that name has shown up in this window.

Common questions
Does a "no match" mean the company is fine?
No. It only means no winding-up petition against that exact company name showed up in the window of Gazette notices this tool has scanned. A petition could exist under a slightly different registered name, could have been filed just before this data was last fetched, or the company could still be in serious difficulty through other means entirely, such as a CVA, administration, or informal creditor pressure that never reaches a petition at all.
Does a match mean the company will be liquidated?
Not automatically. A petition is the start of a court process, not the end of one. The company can pay the debt, get the petition dismissed, or agree a settlement before the court hearing. See our winding-up petition timeline for what happens next.
Where does this data come from?
The Gazette, the official UK public record of insolvency notices, specifically notice code 2450 ("Petitions to wind up (Companies)"). It is Crown Copyright, reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
