LTD Turnaround data API
You can read the figures behind our data pages as JSON, free and without a key. Everything comes from official UK sources: the Insolvency Service and The Gazette.
Endpoints
All requests are GET over HTTPS, and any website can call them (CORS is open). Responses are cached for an hour.
/api/insolvency: The latest monthly company insolvency figures for England and Wales from the Insolvency Service: the total, the rate per 10,000 companies, each procedure and the sectors. Example: /api/insolvency/api/petitions: How many winding-up petitions The Gazette published in the last 7 days. Counts only: the API gives no company names. Example: /api/petitions/api/practitioners: Search the Insolvency Service register of insolvency practitioners. Optional: ?query= (name or firm), ?town= (town or start of postcode), ?body= (authorising body), ?limit= (1 to 100). Example: /api/practitioners?town=Leeds/api/practitioners/{ip_number}: One practitioner by IP number, with a link to the official record. Example: /api/practitioners/7837
The full spec is in openapi.json (OpenAPI 3.1).
For AI assistants (MCP)
The same data is available as a read-only MCP server at https://ltdturnaround.co.uk/mcp (streamable HTTP). It has three resources (insolvency figures, petition counts, register details) and one tool, search_insolvency_practitioners. The manifest is at /.well-known/mcp.json.
Sources and licence
- Company insolvency statistics: the Insolvency Service monthly release. The page with the same figures is our insolvency tracker.
- Winding-up petitions: The Gazette notices feed, notice code 2450. To check a named company, use our petition lookup.
- Insolvency practitioners: the Insolvency Service "Find an insolvency practitioner" service. It only lists practitioners who agreed to be included, so it is not every UK practitioner. We copy no emails or phone numbers; contact details are on each official record. The same list is on our practitioner directory.
